TSM Metal Works Moves to Crossville

TSM Metal Works will locate new operations in Crossville.

The Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development announced Wednesday the company will invest some $500,000, creating at least 20 jobs. The California fabrication company provides powder coating for multiple industries. General Manager Mark Thibodeau said he is sure the deal is mutually beneficial to the company and community.

“TSM is confident that the company will thrive and offer many jobs over the coming years to many families across the region,” Thibodeau said. “TSM would like to thank all involved in making this new company come to life. From inception, through construction to completion, all involved from the local level to the state level have been so warm and helpful, confirming that Tennessee and Cumberland County was the right choice!”

The Cumberland County move, the first for the company outside California. Once complete, the plant will be a 30,000 square foot facility serving TSM Metal Works’ clients locally and nationwide. Senator Paul Bailey of Sparta said the move displays Tennessee’s more welcoming economic environment compared to other states.

“While some states are driving away businesses with high taxes and heavy-handed regulations, we continue to see companies moving into Tennessee thanks to our friendly business climate, low taxes, and the best workforce in the nation,” Bailey said.

TNECD Commissioner Stuart C. McWhorter said the plant’s strategic location in Crossville places it within striking distance of several of Tennessee’s major cities.

“Crossville’s central location allows companies easy access to many of Tennessee’s major cities and will be the ideal location for TSM’s new manufacturing plant,” McWhorter said. “We appreciate this company’s investment in not only our state but also Cumberland County and look forward to seeing the economic growth that follows today’s announcement.”

Once ready, the plant will provide metal fabrication services to projects ranging from agriculture to manufacturing.
