Roger Williams and Luke Hill were elected to the Algood City Council, with Hill winning his seat by one vote.
Hill said his main goal for his next term is to foster the success the city has seen in recent years. Hill said he was very surprised to have won by the smallest margin possible.
“It’s very surprising,” Hill said. “Shows that, you know, there’s four good candidates there just, you know, splitting the election. We kind of figured it would be close because they were all four good candidates, and it’s, so yeah, can’t get any closer than this.”
Hill said he has been on the council for six years and he wants to continue guiding the development that he sees in the city.
“We need to have smart growth up here and, you know, that’s really what drives me is stability and growing in a smart manner,” Hill said.
Roger Williams secured 36% of the votes, while Hill and Ronald Graves both received some 24%.
