The investigation of the Algood Walmart bomb threat earlier this month has been handed off to federal officials.
Algood Police Chief Tim Terry said the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Taskforce will continue gathering facts. Terry said the agency usually takes over cases for similar threats. ATF was part of the team that searched and cleared the premises in the early mornings of August 12th.
Terry said the department has not received any updates in regards to the ongoing investigation.
