Volunteer Energy reports about 2,000 people without power in Monterey after a tree fell on lines Friday afternoon.
Over 1,000 customers are without power in Crossville as of 3pm. Volunteer Energy reporting multiple outages in southern Cumberland County as well.
Upper Cumberland Electric reports scattered outages in Livingston as well as southern Overton County, north of Monterey.
The heaviest of the rain has moved north and west of the Upper Cumberland, but the remnants of Hurricane Helene crossed the Tennessee border north of Oneida. That, combined with an upper level low near Paducah, KY, has increased wind speeds since about lunch time. The National Weather Service reports winds will continue to gust between 30 and 40mph during the late afternoon and evening.
