Monterey Swears In Mackie As Police Chief

John Mackie sworn in as Monterey’s new Police Chief Monday night.

Mackie was sworn in by Mayor Alex Garcia. Mackie took over the role of the town’s police chief two weeks ago.

“I, John Mackie, do solemnly swear to support the constitution of the United States of America… and the constitution of the state of Tennessee and the laws in pursuant therefore,” Mackie said.

Mackie swore to administer justice without respect to persons and to faithfully and impartially perform all of his duties. Mackie swore in a new officer, Andrew North, immediately after his own ceremony.
