Sparta Aldermen rejected a bid for the installation of a backup generator at the Sparta-White County YMCA during a meeting on Thursday.
City Administrator Tonya Tindle said the city only received one bid, and the one bid was extremely high. Tindle said that after evaluating who had received the bid package, the city realized several people had not received a bid package.
The city will rebid the installation of the generator. Tindle said it was in the city’s best interest to reject the bid and to rebid the project.
