Sentencing For Former Fentress Commissioner Moved

A sentencing hearing for former Fentress County Commissioner Mark Crabtree moved to September Monday.

Crabtree resigned as a county commissioner last December after he was indicted on charges of stealing an estimated $22,000.

Crabtree has been charged with one count of theft over $10,000, one count of forgery over $10,000, and one count of fraudulent use of a credit or debit card over $1,000. Crabtree has pleaded guilty to all three charges, but was not officially sentenced during today’s hearing.

According to the Fentress County Court Clerk’s Office, a continuance was granted after a separate judge had to fill in after Judge Zach Walden was unable to attend. The continuation of the sentencing hearing is set for September 8th.
