A Cookeville man has been arrested for sexual exploitation of a minor.
According to the Cookeville Police Department, 40-year-old Ronald Smith had possession of child abuse material. After receiving a cybertip, the Cookeville Police Department assigned the investigation to the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ICAC). A search warrant was obtained for Smith’s Cookeville residence, where multiple devices were found and seized.
Smith was arrested by the Franklin Police Department and has been booked into the Putnam County Jail. Smith’s Bond has been set for $55,000. Sexual exploitation of a minor is a class B felony.
