Warren County Pioneers basketball player Isaiah Robledo continues his senior year at Warren County with experience, versatility and a clear appreciation for what sports have given him.
Now entering his fourth season on the Pioneers’ varsity teams, Robledo has been a familiar presence in multiple programs. Basketball entered the picture early, playing the sport since he was four years old. Football has been part of his life for just as long. As his high school career nears its final chapter, Robledo said he is focused on making the most of both.
On the hardwood, Robledo said he credits head basketball coach Danny Fish for helping him grow not just as a player, but as a teammate.
“If I make a mistake or something like that on the court, you know, Coach Fish doesn’t just scream at me and just yell at me,” Robledo said. “He kind of corrects me into whatever I did wrong so I don’t make that mistake on the court. Our big thing is the brotherhood for the basketball team so that’s kind of what we embrace and it’s a really strong thing that we have there.”
Robledo currently plays at guard for the Pioneers. Robledo said he has carved out a role through defense, ball movement and effort, areas where trust and chemistry matter most.
Robledo said balancing two sports comes with its challenges, but he believes each one makes him better at the other.
“Basketball, working different things, helps you with football,” Robledo said. “Football, working different things helps you with basketball, but especially in the summer having to go to practice for two hours and then going to another one for two hours, it’s just part of something that goes with it.”
As a senior, Robledo said he understands the importance of leadership and unity, particularly when the postseason arrives.
“When you’re in that postseason, you got to dig a little deeper to win games to get what you want to get,” Robledo said. “State championship, high school, region games, it’s so important.”
With experience in both locker rooms and a willingness to do whatever is asked of him, Robledo enters his senior year looking to leave his mark, not just through stats, but through brotherhood, effort and versatility across Warren County athletics.
