Livingston's Jenkins Caps Off Senior Year With Honors

Livingston Academy volleyball player Chloe Jenkins closed out her four-year career with the Wildcats as one of the program’s most versatile and steady contributors, and with a spot on the District 7AA All-District Team to show for it.

Jenkins, who spent last season strictly in the back row, played all six positions for LA this year. Jenkins said she embraced a challenge that pushed her both technically and mentally.

“I think I’ve learned just to forgive others for their mistakes because it’s just a quick game and not hold on to stuff,” Jenkins said. “[I’ve also learned] to take every moment as an important moment.”

Jenkins said that mindset helped her step confidently into a senior leadership role.

“I think I gained more confidence in my hitting and just stepped up as a senior and pushed the other ones.” Jenkins said.

Jenkins said the Wildcats’ late-season push started with their matchup against Watertown. Jenkins said that moment helped redirect the team’s focus and energy.

Jenkins said the group locked in on winning every game and improving while doing so, and from that point forward, their identity solidified around communication and defensive grit.

“I think we played more as a team and we were more communicative to everybody,” Jenkins said. “And we just played well together.”

Jenkins said the defense stood out most throughout the season, and it became a defining strength for the Wildcats.

Jenkins’ all-district nod marks the final highlight of her career at Livingston Academy, but her next chapter is already in motion. She plans to pursue a degree in pharmacy, and is deciding between Tennessee Tech and the University of Tennessee as her next stop.
