Seven people who plan to run for seats in cities across Putnam County picked up election packets in the first hours for the August 6 elections.
Ali Bagci, Luke Eldridge, and Mason Harville have picked up packets to run for Cookeville City Council. Cookeville will have five council seats on the ballot.
Algood voters will be electing a Mayor and two council members. Dan Taylor has picked up a packet to run for a seat on the Algood City Council.
Baxter will elect two council members. Greg Phillips has picked up an election packet to retain his seat on the Baxter City Council.
Monterey will elect a Mayor and four aldermen. Brian Q. Williams and Incumbent James Wolfgram picked up packets to run for seats on Monterey’s Board of Aldermen. Williams will run for the Ward Two seat, while Wolfgram will look to retain his seat in Ward Three.
Friday was the first day people could pick up an election packet. Candidates in those races have until March 10 at noon to turn in qualifying packets.
