A Nashville man arrested in Cookeville Wednesday following a joint investigation involving the TBI and multiple law enforcement agencies.
33-year old Kortez Woods arrested for selling and delivering controlled substances in the Upper Cumberland. During an operation conducted on Wednesday in Cookeville, law enforcement located Woods. Officials said he was found in possession of both methamphetamine and cocaine at the time of the encounter.
Authorities reported that the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation Drug Investigation Division worked alongside the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Task Force and local departments including the Cookeville Police Department and the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office.
“He was subsequently arrested and charged with one count of Possession with Intent to Manufacture/Deliver/Sell Schedule II (Methamphetamine), and one count of Possession with Intent to Manufacture/Deliver/Sell Schedule II (Cocaine),” officials said.
Following the arrest, Woods was booked into the Putnam County Jail, where he remains in custody on $180,000 bond.
The Overton Police Department, Livingston Police Department, and Pickett County Sheriff’s Office also assisted in the months-long effort to address drug activity in the region.
