The postseason is around the corner, and the first part begins tonight. District tournaments begin, with everyone eyeing a trip to Murfreesboro in a month’s time.
Monday night, the Warren County Lady Pioneers will open district tournament play across the Upper Cumberland in an elimination game as they face Shelbyville. Tipoff is set for 6 pm.
Tuesday night will see a battle between two new district foes, as the Cookeville Cavaliers will face the Warren County Pioneers in an elimination game at Coffee County at 6 pm. The winner will face Shelbyville Saturday, with tipoff at Coffee County scheduled for 3:30 pm.
Tuesday night, both Clay County Bulldogs teams will face Red Boiling Springs in elimination games. The girls game will begin proceedings at 6:30 pm, followed by the boys game at 8. Both games will be held at Livingston Academy. The winners of both games will face the Pickett County Bobcats, with the girls game scheduled for Thursday night at 6:30 pm. The semifinals of the boys games begin Friday at 6:30 pm.
Thursday night, the Monterey Lady Wildcats will host York in their district tournament at 6 pm.
Other action around the Upper Cumberland includes the Van Buren Eaglettes beginning their quest for a second straight run to Murfreesboro as they face Sale Creek in South Pittsburg at 6 pm.
The Jackson County Lady Blue Devils battle the Clarkrange Lady Buffaloes in Livingston at 8 pm.
Friday night, the Livingston Academy Lady Wildcats and Cumberland County Lady Jets square off in an elimination game at Cookeville, with tipoff set for 6 pm. The Livingston Wildcats boys team follows that game, as they will face the White County Warriors in an elimination game, with tipoff set at 7:30 pm. Both games will be broadcast on WLIV, with coverage beginning at 5:40 pm.
The Monterey Wildcats facing Cannon County at Monterey Friday night at 6 pm.
The York Dragons will also be in Monterey Friday night, as they battle Smith County Friday at 6 pm as well.
The Van Buren Eagles will face Sale Creek in South Pittsburg Friday night, with tipoff also scheduled for 6 pm.
The Jackson County Blue Devils and Clarkrange Buffaloes will round out proceedings Friday night in Livingston with an 8 pm tipoff.
Saturday afternoon will see the White County Warriorettes battle the Upperman Lady Bees in the district semifinals at Cookeville High School. A time has not yet been announced.
