Nashville Teacher Jailed In Cookeville Online Child Solicitation

A Metro Nashville-area school teacher faces a felony charge in Putnam County following an investigation into the online solicitation of a minor.

Authorities arrested 39-year-old Jonathan Jones at his residence in Nashville Wednesday. Detectives worked in coordination with the Metro Nashville Police Department’s ICAC Unit during the operation. The investigation began in November, 2025.

Detectives obtained warrants charging Jones with Solicitation of a Minor for Aggravated Statutory Rape. The charge is classified as a Class E felony.

Jones was interviewed and subsequently taken into custody by Metro Nashville officers. Cookeville detectives then obtained warrants for his arrest.

“This investigation underscores the ongoing collaboration between ICAC partners and highlights the critical role of digital forensic techniques in identifying and prosecuting individuals who exploit children online,” the press release said.

Officers transported Jones to Putnam County following the arrest. He was booked into the Putnam County Jail.

“The Cookeville Police Department remains committed to protecting the most vulnerable members of our community and will continue to work alongside our law enforcement partners to bring offenders to justice,” the press release said.

Jones remains in custody on a $100,000 bond.
