Eight Upper Cumberland schools have registered to participate in year two of the state voucher program.
A total of 18 additional schools registered to participate statewide for the 2026-2027 school year. More than 50,000 applications were submitted by families in the opening days of the registration period, according to state officials.
In Cumberland County, participating schools include Inez Wrenn Seventh-day Adventist School and Trinity Academy.
In Putnam County, Anniston Academy, Heritage Academy and Highland Rim Academy will participate. Warren County has three schools participating in the program: Covenant Academy, Faulkner Springs Christian School and F.C. Boyd Christian School.
