The past weekend’s games concluded with boys and girls teams in the Upper Cumberland seeing their seasons continue in Murfreesboro.
In girls basketball, four teams advanced to four separate state championships. Van Buren defeated Jackson County Saturday night to advance to the Class 1A state tournament. The Eaglettes will battle Greenfield Thursday night at 8:45.
York advanced to the Class 2A state championship by defeating East Nashville in Jamestown. The Dragonettes will battle Westview Wednesday morning, with tipoff set for 11 am.
White County defeated Heritage to move on to the Class 3A State Tournament. The Warriorettes play Wednesday night at 8:45 pm against Covington.
Class 4A saw the Cookeville Lady Cavaliers advance after defeating Green Hill on the road. Cookeville will square off with Page High School Thursday morning with a 9:30 am tipoff.
Boys basketball sees three teams advance to the state tournament, with two representing Class 1A. Jackson County defeated Van Buren to advance to the Class 1A state championship. The Blue Devils will face Hampton next Thursday at 8:45 pm.
Pickett County also advanced to the Class 1A state championship after defeating South Pittsburg. The Bobcats will face undefeated Eagleville next Thursday at 4 pm.
Upperman advanced to the Class 3A state championship after defeating Red Bank Monday night. The Bees will square off with South Gibson Wednesday afternoon at 4:30 pm.
