The White County Finance Committee approved a bid to install a cover for the Rowland Sawmill and a full carpet replacement for the White County Public Library.
Finance Director Chad Marcum said the bid for the sawmill structure was $22,700
“We received three bids for the Rowland Sawmill structure project,” Markum said, “Opened those on the twenty-seventh of May. The low bidder was Troyer Post Buildings, And we feel like that, that their submittal, matches the requirements, so that’s who we’re recommending to move forward with.,”
The project will not be entirely funded by the county, as the Quebec-Walling community and the historical society have performed fundraising to assist with the costs.
Carpet replacement at the White County Public Library will cost some $106,000.
“We are still working with the architect on the project regarding references and checking some information on here,” Markham said. “As long as those pan out, we will move the budget and plan to move forward.”
Marcum said the library project is a replacement for the full facility and includes some VCT flooring in addition to the carpet. The committee approved the bid contingent upon the final recommendation of the architect.
