Search Widens For Six Missing Cumberland Children

The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office issued a felony arrest warrant for a mother accused of taking six children from a Crossville area home last week.

Officials said Misty Ware faces a charge of custodial interference after taking the children on October 22. A court order denied her legal custodial rights. Investigators said the children could be endangered.

The search continues for 16 year old Anahi Ware, 10 year old Maximo Ware, 8 year old Abalino Almaraz-Ware, 5 year old Luisa Almaraz-Ware, 3 year old Paloma Ware, and 9 month old Felix Ware.

Authorities recovered a red Chrysler Town & Country minivan on Monday in Cumberland County that was believed to have been used to transport the children. Ware and the children have not been located.

The Sheriff’s Office said investigators have executed multiple search warrants and conducted numerous interviews during the investigation. State and federal agencies are assisting in the effort to locate the children.

Officials said Ware has ties to Cumberland and Marion Counties, as well as Georgia. Investigators previously believed she could be traveling toward Mexico.

The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office asks anyone with information about Ware, the children, or the investigation to contact the department.
