Republican Cameron Sexton secured another term representing Tennessee House District 25 Tuesday, defeating Democratic challenger Monica Mowdy.
Sexton, who serves as Speaker of the Tennessee House of Representatives, represents Cumberland County and portions of Putnam County. His reelection returns him to Nashville for another two-year term in the General Assembly.
Sexton has represented the district since 2011 and has served as House Speaker since 2019. His leadership position places him among the state’s most influential lawmakers, overseeing proceedings in the House and helping shape the chamber’s legislative priorities.
The Crossville Republican’s victory also maintains Upper Cumberland representation in House leadership as lawmakers prepare for the 2027 legislative session.
Election results remain unofficial pending certification.
