A DeKalb County man faces felony charges of Solicitation of a Minor by Electronic Means after sending inappropriate messages to a Cookeville minor.
41-year-old Jeffery Edward Dawes arrested Thursday after being located by the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office. A complaint to the Cookeville Police Department alleged Dawes was sending sexually explicit photos, videos, and messages offering to exchange money for images to her 15-year old son on social media app Snapchat.
Officers interviewed Dawes and seized his phone. During the interview, Dawes admitted to sending the messages and acknowledged he knew the recipient was a minor.
Dawes has been taken into custody and booked into the Putnam County Jail. He was given a $75,000 bond.
