Fentress County Sheriff Michael Reagon indicted Thursday in an ongoing scandal involving training he did not complete.
Reagon accused of directing Former Fentress County Detective Jerry Mifflin to fraudulently complete mandatory in-service training courses on the sheriff’s behalf. Completing the training made Reagon eligible for a salary bonus.
The Fentress County Grand Jury indicted both Reagon and Mifflin with one count of Tampering with Government Records. Mifflin turned himself in and was booked into the Fentress County Jail on a $10,000 bond. Reagon was also booked into the Fentress County Jail and released on his own recognizance.
Both face a hearing before the state’s Peace Officers Standards and Training Commission. Mifflin said at last month’s hearing, he tried to help the sheriff with the issue.
