Imagine Foundry Still Has Openings For Winter Break

Cookeville’s Imagine Foundry giving kids the chance to explore creativity during the non-profit’s Winter Break Camps.

Imagine Foundry Executive Director Jessa Hershner said the winter break camp is themed Arctic Explorers, which covers arctic science, maker projects, and creative challenges. Hershner said the camp provides hands-on learning experiences that kids enjoy.

“It’s really important for them again just to be immersed in what they are learning about instead of trying to have them sit still or do a worksheet, or watching a video,” Hershner said. “They are active. They are up. They are moving around.”

Hershner said, though the camp is wrapping up this week, it’s a great opportunity for kids to learn as they wrap up winter break.

“Day Camps are super flexible,” Hershner said. “You can drop in together as a family with our daily admission ticket, or you can drop the kids off for a few hours, or for the day depnding on your work schedule.”

Hershner said the camps that the Imagine Foundry provides are a big resource to the Upper Cumberland region.

“Instead of having to travel out of town an hour to an hour and a half to go to a bigger city to find a children’s museum or a science center, Imagine Foundry is the Upper Cumberland children’s museum and maker space,” Hershner said. “So keeping it local and trying to have that space for families that live here and work here.”

Hershner said children can be signed up by visiting the Imagine Foundry’s social media pages and by visiting the website at ImagineFoundry.org and exploring the programs tab.
