Tennessee Tech preparing for the potential of significant snowfall this weekend.
In a statement sent to students and faculty Thursday, officials said they will work to ensure campus safety and continuity of essential services.University leadership is coordinating with local and regional officials ahead of the expected weather.
“As we prepare for the potential of significant snowfall this weekend, please know that university leadership is already working with local and regional officials to take all necessary precautions and ensure the continued provision of essential services for our campus community,” The statement said.
Facilities personnel will begin proactive treatment efforts ahead of the weekend weather.
“Facilities personnel will begin treating university roads and sidewalks on Friday, January 23, and will continue servicing the campus throughout the weekend,” The statement said.
Officials said closure decisions will be made over the weekend.
“A decision regarding a campus closure for Monday, January 26, will be made no later than noon on Sunday, January 25,” Frank said. “Please refer to tntech.edu/weather for information on where campus closure or delay announcements will be shared.”
If the campus closes, residential and dining operations will continue, with some services adjusted based on conditions.
“University employees are encouraged to take their work devices home on Friday, January 23, and ensure all windows in their buildings are closed before departing campus,” The Statement said. “Students who remain on campus are encouraged to park in green-zoned parking lots and consider gathering emergency supplies.”
