Region tournament weekend dawns across the Upper Cumberland, with district champions being decided and locations confirmed throughout the next week.
All girls first round games will be played Friday night at 7, while the boys games are all slated for Saturday night at 7.
The girls Class A region tournament will see Van Buren automatically advance to the second round due to District 5 only consisting of three teams. Van Buren will face the winner of CSLA or South Pittsburg on Monday in South Pittsburg at 7:30.
Jackson County won the district championship in District 7 and will face Jo Byrns at home.
District 7’s two seed ended up being Pickett County, who will have a home game against Merrol Hyde.
Clay County will travel down to Trousdale County.
Clarkrange will head to Gordonsville to play the Tigers.
In the boys Class A region tournament, Van Buren will host Copper Basin.
Jackson County will also host against Trousdale County.
Clarkrange will travel for their first region game as the Buffaloes will head to Jo Byrns.
Clay County will travel to face Gordonsville.
Pickett County will host Merrol Hyde as a result of being the two seed in their district.
In the Class 2A girls region tournament, York won the District 6AA championship and will host Marion County with their win.
Monterey ended the district tournament as the four seed and will travel to face the District 5 champions in Grundy County.
Class 2AA regional tournament action on the boys side will see Monterey traveling to face Bledsoe County.
York will travel to face Grundy County.
The Class 3A girls region tournament will see Stone Memorial hosting their first round game after winning the district championship. The Lady Panthers will host Murfreesboro Central.
DeKalb County came in second place in District 8AAA and will host White County after the Warriorettes finished third in the district tournament.
Livingston will travel to face the District 8AAA champions Watertown, and Upperman will host Macon County after coming in second place.
Class 3A boys regional tournament action includes District 7AAA champions Upperman hosting Murfreesboro Central.
Stone Memorial came in third place in the district and will travel to face DeKalb County.
White County will head on the road to battle Macon County.
Cumberland County gets a home game for their second place finish. They will host Watertown.
In the Class 4A region tournament, Cookeville won the Class 6AAAA tournament and will host Walker Valley.
Cookeville’s boys team will travel to Cleveland to keep their season going.
