The York Dragonettes will play in their third consecutive state semifinal after defeating Westview 44-36.
The matchup, a rematch from last year’s state championship, saw York lead for the final three quarters. York held Westview to one point in the second quarter to lead at the half 18-14. After a back and forth third quarter saw York end with the lead 26-22, Emma Pile would score 11 of the 17 points in the fourth quarter to help the Dragonettes advance.
York finished with a 59 percent shooting percentage, including shooting 76 percent in the second half. The Dragonettes held Westview to 29 percent shooting in the first half and 39 percent for the game.
Emma Pile and Raylee Werner both finished with 13 points, combining to shoot 10 of 15 from the field. Emma Cooper scored 11 points, while Cali Franklin chipped in with seven.
The Dragonettes will compete in the first semifinal of the day Friday morning. They will face off against Loretto, with tipoff set for 9:30 am. The stream can be heard live on 106-9 Kicks Country.
