A Jamestown woman is in custody facing a criminal homicide charge after a deadly shooting on Whippoorwill Lane Thursday morning.
The Fentress County Sheriff’s Office identified the suspect as Jolina Upchurch. Upchurch is accused in the death of Samuel Jennings. The incident occurred just before 9am Thursday morning.
Law enforcement arrived at the location. Officials discovered the male victim upon reaching the property with a gunshot wound.
Jennings died at the scene.
Upchurch evaded law enforcement for the majority of the day following the fatal encounter. Authorities successfully apprehended her Thursday evening around 6pm.
