Kimberly Ledford is returning to the Baxter community to serve as the new assistant principal for fifth and sixth grade students at Upperman Middle School.
Ledford has nearly 20 years of experience in education including classroom teaching and mentoring other educators. Upperman Middle School said her background also includes providing instructional support to teachers.
“This is my 19th year in education,” Ledford said. “I am eager to return to my roots and support the great work happening in the amazing town of Baxter.”
Ledford said she is looking forward to building relationships with students, parents, and staff in her new role. Officials said Ledford is a strong addition to the school as preparations continue for the upcoming school year.
Ledford most recently served as a teacher at Prescott South Elementary before accepting the position at Upperman Middle School.
Ledford began her educational career in the same community at Baxter Elementary School. Ledford said she and her husband Jim are active members of the community where they raise their four children.
Upperman Middle School officials said in the statement Ledford will emphasize supporting student needs in her new administrative capacity.
