Paul Sherrell Secures Important Victory In District 43

Representative Paul Sherrell returning to state legislature representing House District 43.

Sherrell is representing the district after winning 67.9 percent of the vote in Warren and White counties. Sherrell said he has served in the position since 2016.

“First I want to say is thank the good Lord above, he’s the one that’s made it happen for us to be elected ever since 2016, and we can’t say enough to say thank the Lord,” Sherrell said. “But we definitely want to make sure we thank the people in the 43rd District, Warren and White County,”

Sherrell said his approach to the office involves prioritizing the feedback he receives from local residents over outside influences. Sherrell said he focuses on how his constituents ask him to vote on specific issues.

“Well I try my best to listen to the people in the 43rd District, what they ask me and how they want me to vote, and I try not to just take the pressure from Nashville and do what they want, I just try to hopefully do what the people want me to do,” Sherrell said.

Sherrell said the current economic climate and the cost of living served as significant factors for voters during the election cycle. Sherrell said the rising costs of fuel and diesel have created a difficult environment for citizens.

“I believe that a big factor in the election that’s taken place right now that with the price of fuel is made a lot of people come out and vote, it’s, it’s just, price of gas, diesel and everything’s killing people,” Sherrell said.

Sherrell said he remains appreciative of the support he received from the community to continue his service in the Tennessee General Assembly.

“Again, I appreciate y’all very much and just thank the good Lord and thank the people,” Sherrell said.
