A major accident near mile marker 275 on Interstate 40 has closed the west bound lanes towards Nashville.
Multiple vehicles and tractor trailers are involved in the accident. Drivers are being advised to exit near Baxter to avoid the closed area.
The road closures are expected to last for the next few hours.
