The Tennessee Historical Society announced Friday the addition of seven newly registered historical sites to the National Register of Historic Places.
These include a WWII-era aircraft hangar, an African-American cemetery, a foundry complex, apartment complex, and three fire lookout towers.
One tower, the Twinton Fire Lookout Tower, is in Overton County.
The National Register of Historic Places is the nation’s official list of cultural resources worthy of preservation.
