Tennessee Tech Officials are planning for the future of Tucker Stadium.
A Tennessee Tech football alum heard of plans during the weekend to rebuild the stadium. News and Communications Director Joe Fisher said in a statement given Monday, that timeline and cost specifics are not ready at this time.
“We are in the very early stages of discussions and planning for improvements to our football facilities and stadium,” Fisher said. “Everything is still in the preliminary stages, so there are no specifics to share regarding timelines, final designs or cost.”
The university has tried in the past to put together plans to rebuild Tucker Stadium. However, the necessary private funding efforts to finance a rebuild have been unsuccessful in the past.
Cookeville recently lost the bid to host the TSSAA Blue Cross Bowl. In that decision, TSSAA cited issues it perceived with the turf, video board and revenues from the video board.
